MOON SONGS Tracey Roberts in concert with Rob Mercer
About
MOON SONGS complements Tracey's FLY ME TO THE MOON art exhibition at MAGNET Galleries (until 2 August) - showcasing 12 unique and vibrant synesthetic artworks where music is translated into colour, movement and form. Through her rare neurological experience of music-colour synesthesia, Roberts creates richly layered visual compositions that offer audiences a glimpse into the way sound can be perceived beyond hearing.ART GOES TO THE MOON! Global significance..... Originally featured in the June 2021 edition of the US-based O Muse! Art, Literature & Music magazine, the artworks form part of the LUNAR CODEX— an international cultural archive led by Canadian physicist and author Dr Samuel Peralta, which sends contemporary creative works to the lunar surface as a record of human creativity during a time of global crisis.
In this exhibition, the works are reimagined as unique 1-of-1 lunar editions, printed by Photonet on internationally sourced handmade archival papers. Each artwork contains a semi-hidden moon element, that connects it to the lunar journey transforming the collection into something rare, unique and collectable.
MOON SONGS features specially selected songs, both original and well-loved, all relating to the moon, and promises to be an unforgettable evening where you can immerse yourself in the experience of both musical art and artful music.
