Bush Dance, Dinner & Poetry
About
Step back in time when country folk met up at the local dance. 5000 enchanting fairy lights, hay bales, fresh flowers, chequered tablecloths & bunting flags will set the scene. We're having a Bush Dance, Dinner & Poetry night at Adavale Lane Community Hall on Saturday 25th July 2026, so kick up your heels, put on your boots and bring the family along. The Kelly Gang Bush Band will be playing, & there will be a jumping castle for the kids. Bush Poetry competition will be running, details can be found on our Facebook page, information flyer & entry form. The competition closes on the 18th July. Finalists will be reciting their poems on the night in front of a live audience. Lyn Townsend, Laurie Ashcroft & Lisa Ramsay from Parkes M & D Society will be judging the competition, great prizes to be won!
Dinner will be a delicious BBQ feast, guests are asked to bring a salad and dessert along to share as they did in the old days. You will need to register what food you will be bringing to comply with our food safety plan.
The Kelly Gang Bush Band is a brilliant family band from Trundle, who will get you all up dancing. They are progressive dances where Peter, the caller, will run through each step before bringing it all to life with music. It is a lot of fun!
