YARUNYUNG: The Next Wave is a vibrant collection of First Nations creativity, culture, and connection to place, premiering at the 2026 Bribie Island Nature Festival.
The performance combines original wearable artworks, live music by Muses Trio and immersive visuals by Sean Healy.
Inspired by the landscapes, stories and spirit of Yarun (Bribie Island), YARUNYUNG brings fashion, music and digital art together in a unique community experience. Each garment is a powerful statement of self-expression, and featured in the fashion performances at this year's Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
The contemporary, wearable fashion was designed through the collaborative forces of the Bribie Island Nature Festival, the jarums (young people) of Pumicestone Indigenous Education and Employment Council, alongside the Elders on Yarun.
Don't miss this exciting event, where traditional stories come alive and youthful creativity is seen through the individual and bold graphics on everyday clothing and accessories.
Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from our volunteer-run bar. You are welcome to bring your own nibblies, but please no byo alcohol.
