Spend a relaxed and inspiring day exploring the beauty of soft pastels.This one-day workshop is perfect for the intermediate adult artist who has some experience with soft pastels and wants to learn how to paint a Pretty Protea.
Expand on your soft pastel techniques to create a portrait of a pretty protea and discover how to layer pastels to create texture, depth and distance while building a painting of this beautiful native flower. You’ll learn how to analyse an image and build up the layers of colour using varying pressure and application of soft pastel to create a realistic Protea and by the end of the day, you’ll head home with a finished artwork and with a deeper understanding of this beautiful tactile medium.
Come immerse yourself in the joy of soft pastels and enjoy a day of creativity, colour, and connection at the Delicious Art Studio in Toowoomba.

MATERIALS LIST
If you’re bringing your own supplies, please bring the following:
• Soft pastels – artist-quality sets or individual sticks. Colours: red, pinks, greens, gold.
• Art Spectrum Colourfix pastel paper, A3, in black (I’ll have some available for purchase at $6 each)
• Drawing board slightly larger than A3 (for taping or clipping paper – spares available)
• Table or standing easel (optional)
• A pastel pencil in pink, red or a neutral mid tone (I have spares)
• Kneadable eraser
• Old hand towel for your hands / wet wipes
• Apron to protect your clothes
• Baking paper or glassine to protect your finished artwork
• 3 bulldog clips
• Masking tape
• Ruler
