Exclusive to ANBG Friends: A tour of the Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC). Maintained by CSIRO, ANIC is the world's largest collection of Australian insects and related invertebrates and is used by Australian and international researchers, industry, government and university students. It is growing by more than 100,000 specimens each year.Tour is restricted to adults, as you will be passing through or near labs with various hazards and chemicals.
Due to pest management protocols, bags and jackets are NOT permitted into the collection space. Visitor lockers will be made available.
The building is suitable for people with mobility issues. Wheelchairs will be inspected to ensure no pests are inadvertently taken into the collection space.
