The State Library of NSW is turning 200 years old, and Maitland Libraries is turning 80!Join us for a special panel discussion with some of Maitland’s very own librarians and discover the people, stories and surprising adventures that fill our libraries every day.
From curating diverse collections and delivering exciting family programs to helping people find life-changing information, librarians are problem-solvers, storytellers, community connectors and champions of learning – and no two days are ever the same.
Librarians themselves are as diverse as the communities they serve, coming from all corners of the globe and all walks of life. Yet they are united by a powerful passion for sharing stories, ideas and information with others.
Working in spaces of safety, discovery and opportunity, librarians are the friendly faces who help people feel supported and seen.
