Join us for National Science Week on Thursday 20th August at 6.30pm to learn how to navigate the night skies with Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society. We will begin the evening with an information session on how to view the moon in it's first quarter phase, followed by a series of viewings through high powered telescopes.We will also be featuring a range of space-themed activities such as a sky mapping scavenger hunt using the SkyView app, and glow in the dark art installations by students.
Families and community members are welcome! However, places are strictly limited so booking is essential. Gold coin donations are welcome for our new school visitors.
We recommend dressing in warm clothing during the evening as we will be spending sometime outdoors. Hot chocolates will be for sale from the school's canteen!
This is sure to be a spectacular evening! We can't wait to see you there!
Please note: All attendees under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and caregivers will be responsible for their child/children at all times. As school staff will be present during the evening to assist with stargazing activities, they will be unavailable to provide supervision. Thank you for your understanding.
