Brunch by the Bridge is a relaxed community gathering beneath the iconic Snowy Rail Bridge in Orbost.

Bringing together local businesses, community groups, tourism operators, government representatives and residents, the event provides an opportunity to share what's been happening across our region, celebrate progress—big or small—and strengthen the relationships that help our communities thrive.

Enjoy a delicious buffet grazing brunch by Tara & Patrick, a barista-made coffee or tea from Flat Bickie and live acoustic music by Rachel while exploring community update displays showcasing local projects, businesses and initiatives.

This isn't a formal meeting or networking event—it's simply an opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new ones and enjoy an optimistic morning together in one of East Gippsland's most unique locations.

Brunch by the Bridge was initiated by Michelle Webb, Michael Lee and Cash Lucas, who met through the Building Resilient Forestry Communities Program and wanted to create a practical community event that celebrates local progress and strengthens connections across our region.

The event is proudly supported by the Committee for Gippsland, the Building Resilient Forestry Communities Program, ASH Timber Heyfield and our local event partners.

Brunch by the Bridge will bring together local residents, businesses, tourism operators, community leaders, government representatives and regional partners to celebrate the region and continue conversations about its future.

The Snowy Rail Bridge is an important part of a broader long-term vision for a connected and thriving Far East Gippsland visitor economy.

Looking to the future

Over recent months, the 10-Year Visitor Economy Plan for Orbost and Marlo has been shared with all levels of government and key regional stakeholders, including East Gippsland Shire Council, Regional Development Victoria, Tom McIntosh MP, DEECA and Destination Gippsland.

This event provides an opportunity to hear the latest updates, build community awareness and continue important conversations about the projects, partnerships and investment that could help strengthen the region’s visitor economy.

Most importantly, it is a chance to come together, enjoy great local food, coffee and music, and celebrate what makes Orbost, Marlo and Far East Gippsland special.
