Tears at tooth-brushing time? Scared of the dentist chair? You are not alone! To celebrate Dental Week, Pacific Smiles Dental is stepping up to help local families by hosting a completely free, interactive dental health workshop tailored specifically for parents and carers of younger children. The casual, supportive session will take place in Figtree Grove opposite Amplifon.Designed to strip away the stress of early oral hygiene, this session is all about turning daily dental care from a chore into a game. A dentist and a dental assistant will pull back the curtain on clinic life, giving parents practical, stress-free hacks to protect their children's teeth while making healthy habits stick.
The engaging session will break down the essential steps every parent needs to know, including:
1. Importance of dental care and brushing: Practical, tantrum-free tips to turn daily cleaning into a fun routine instead of a daily struggle.
2. Children’s first dental visit: Exactly when to book it and how we make this early milestone a positive, safe, and happy memory.
3. Some toddler common dental concerns: Quick advice on how to spot and handle thumb-sucking, pacifier habits, and early signs of chalky teeth or cavities.
4. What to expect at their dental visit: A step-by-step sneak peek at a standard toddler appointment so you can prepare your child completely before you arrive.
5. Why we wear everything that we do: A playful demonstration of our dental uniforms, masks, and shields, teaching kids that our gear is just a cool safety suit worn by a friendly face.
The goal for this Dental Week session is to empower parents with the confidence they need at home, and to show kids that Dentists are just friendly faces under their protective gear. They want to make coming to the dentist feel like a fun family adventure!
