About
Head to the library for an evening of astronomy, as part of the Bio Blitzing to the Universe and Back event.Come on a journey of our night sky in Nitro Nat’s inflatable portable planetarium. The Stardome is a great experience for all ages and will enable you to explore the night sky, constellations, stars and their different colours, directions using the stars and hear stories from Aboriginal Dreaming.
The short sessions are 30 minutes in duration, begin in the Stardome and explore the night sky.
The long sessions are an hour in duration and focus on our moon, orbits, seasons, and our neighbours in space, including the planets of the Solar System and finish by going into the Stardome.
The library will also have some hands-on astronomy activities running from 5.30pm – 8.30pm so you can pop in before or after your Planetarium session, no additional bookings required.
Planetarium session times are: 5.30pm – 6.00pm, 6.30pm – 7.00pm, 7.30pm – 8.30pm.

Recommended for ages 5+.
Parents must stay in the planetarium with children under 10 years and in the library with children under 13 years.
Please book one ticket per person. Both adults and children require a ticket for going inside the planetarium.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your planetarium session start time.
Please note: it is very dark inside the planetarium and bending/crawling is required to get inside. Please let us know in advance of any mobility issues so we can assist in helping you to access the planetarium. Prams are not permitted inside the planetarium.
