Youth Boy Open Athlete Assessment Trials 2026
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy is holding Open Athlete Assessment Trials for boys aged 10-13 years.
The assessment will involve a range of AFL skills, athletic tests and modified games, with each player receiving an individual feedback report following the assessment.
If you are an existing player currently registered with the Swans Academy, you DO NOT need to trial again for the Academy.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration is subject to capacity:
- Eligibility - players must reside in a local government area aligned with the Sydney Swans Academy program to be eligible for selection.
- Confirmation of your registration will be sent via email, including a copy of the terms and conditions, and details of what to wear and bring to the event.
- Refunds are not available, unless for special circumstances.
- If your age group is sold out, please do not register for a different age group.
ASSESSMENT REPORT
All players will receive an assessment report via email stating whether they have been selected to join the 2027 QBE Sydney Swans Academy Program.
Reports will be completed and emailed by late November. A confirmation SMS will be sent once reports have been emailed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Online registrationPlayers must register and pay online if they wish to participate in the event. Payments cannot be made over the phone or in person. Registrations close Tuesday, 18 August (unless sold out earlier) and no further registrations will be taken after this date.
Swans Academy ZoneOnly players who reside in the Swans Academy zone can be selected in the program.
Age group
Players not born in the years aligned with the age group trials will not be eligible to participate.
Trial dateThere are no further opportunities to trial for the 2027 Academy program, if you are unable to attend the scheduled date for the player's age group.

What to wear and bringWEAR: plain white t-shirt (short or long sleeve), black shorts, black socks and football boots.BRING: mouthgaurd, runners, water bottle and ventolin (if required).
Wet weatherThe event is unlikely to go ahead in wet weather. If the event is cancelled, you will receive notification via SMS and an alternate trial date will be provided
