St John's School Performance 'Paint outside the Lines'
Paint Outside the Lines follows Sam, a self-doubting student who believes he is “bad at art,” until their Mum introduces them to the artists of the Heidelberg School and the Heide Museum of Modern Art. Through a magical journey into famous paintings like Moonrise Over the Yarra, The Pioneer and The Ned Kelly Series, Sam experiences each artwork come to life with humour, music and unexpected chaos. Along the way, Sam learns that great artists like the French and Australian Impressionist painters, embraced individuality, nature and light rather than perfection. Inspired by both classic artworks and modern street art, Sam returns to class with newfound confidence, realising that creativity isn’t about being perfect. It’s about expressing who you are and having the courage to paint outside the lines.
