Women's Health Week: Preventive care through an equity lens
About
Join EMPHN this Women’s Health Week for a breakfast event exploring how general practice can identify, engage and care for women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and vulnerable communities. What we’ll cover:
- The impact of underreported women’s health conditions in CALD and vulnerable populations.
- Strategies for identifying and engaging women who may be missed through standard screening and presentation patterns.
- Practical approaches to building trust across cultural and language barriers.
- Health literacy considerations across cultures, with a focus on contraception, menstrual health and supporting informed care.
- Local insights and experiences from services supporting women in EMPHNs catchment.
- Evidence-based tools and resources GPs can use in routine consults.
This event will equip GPs with practical, evidence-based approaches to strengthen early intervention, deliver more equitable care and achieve better long-term outcomes in women’s health.
