About Laura:
Laura Morris is an author and Coolum local. Her writing has appeared in QLD Writers’ Centre’s Pen and Pixel magazine, and her short story Tarnished is published in the 2025 Sydney Hammond Memorial Short Story Competition anthology. Her debut novel, The Wall Within (published by Hawkeye Publishing), made the shortlist of QWC’s Publishable program in 2022, and the longlist of the Hawkeye Manuscript Development Prize for 2025. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Qld and a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing from the University of the Sunshine Coast. She grew up in Ipswich and Brisbane, and now lives on the Sunshine Coast with her family. She loves writing, gardening, Game Fit Tennis, and Pickleball.
