The Portrait in Oils

Join Ellenie Faith on a weekend exploring portrait painting in oils at the Inverell Art Gallery. This two-day workshop is an in-depth introduction to traditional oil painting, portraiture and working from a life model. We will be looking at anatomy, tone, colour and form to create a classic portrait study. Starting with a charcoal sketch the portrait will be built up using an alla prima painting technique. Participants will observe demonstrations and receive one on one assistance throughout as well as a critique at the end of each day. There is a with and without materials option for booking into the workshop, so it is suitable for both the practiced and beginner artist. Each day we will work from 9:00 to 3:00 with a forty-five-minute break for lunch.Date
