TEEN ARTS LAB
About
A full day of creativity, connection, and imagination designed especially for teens. This immersive workshop brings together drama, visual art, and creative writing. Completely phone-free, the day is all about presence and possibility. The day begins with an epic DRAMA WORKSHOP led by Sally, where we'll dive into improvisation games, fun scripts and theatre challenges. It's all about having a laugh, building confidence, and making new friends while developing your acting and improvisational skills.
After morning tea, we'll slow things down with a relaxed PAINTING WORKSHOP led by Krish. Whether you're an experienced artist or picking up a paintbrush for the first time, you'll create your own artwork on canvas in a supportive and encouraging environment. Using the eye as the subject, Krishna will guide you through a range of painting techniques, helping you explore colour, shading, texture, and detail while developing your own artistic style. Your finished canvas will be yours to take home as a reminder of the day.
Next, we'll hang out around the fire for lunch. You can have a go at primitive fire-making techniques, or just chill out and enjoy.
After lunch, we'll head into a CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP with Shae. We will explore how our senses spark creativity and shape the words we choose. We’ll then explore different forms of inspiration to create your own poem or song.
Throughout the day there'll be plenty of snacks to keep everyone fuelled, including muffins, chips, dips, cups of tea, juice and of course plenty of chocolate!
The workshops are open to all levels of experience, including none at all! We encourage you to give everything a go - but if you need a break or moment to chill you are welcome to hang out on the veranda or by the fireside anytime.
The focus of this day is on building confidence, sparking imagination, and creating connections and friendships through shared creative exploration. We hope that everyone leaves with new friends, creative inspiration and skills and memories to keep.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and water bottle. Snacks will be provided throughout the day.
