Join us for an afternoon and evening of landscape and astrophotography at the stunning Currumbin Rock on the Gold Coast.

We'll meet at 3:00 pm, and I encourage everyone to carpool where possible. Arriving early gives us time to explore the location, settle on the beach and plan our compositions before sunset. Once darkness falls, we'll turn our attention to the night sky and photograph the Milky Way as it rises above the horizon. Whether you're new to astrophotography or have photographed the stars before, everyone is welcome.

What to bring:

• Camera body
• Wide-angle landscape lens
• Fast wide-angle lens (f/2.8 or wider is ideal) for astro
• Tripod
• Headlamp or torch (red light preferred)
• Spare batteries and memory cards
• Warm clothing
• Snacks and water

Weather: As this is a significant drive for many members, a final GO / NO GO decision will be made at 2:00 pm on the day. If the forecast is looking uncertain or is only a 'maybe', we'll cancel the outing rather than risk everyone making the trip for poor conditions.
