Year 11 Drama Presents: Spontaneous Human Combustion
About
17-year-old Astrid Pollard is on fire. She has just returned to school after a lengthy forced absence only to be greeted by visions of 15th century, girl-on-a-mission, Joan of Arc.As Astrid tries her best to reintegrate into normality she finds an unlikely source of friendship with social outcast, Hadley, who helps her try to understand what Joan is calling her to do, and how her personal struggle mirrors the fight of the famous French heroine.
Singing frogs, talking cake, NASA and a plot to overthrow the oppressive school system all lay at Astrid's feet as she battles her own personal war.
