Adbri and CSL invite you to attend the official launch of the YAMPU, Australia's newest low emissions coastal shipping vessel.The YAMPU will support the transport of limestone between Klein Point and Adbri's Birkenhead Cement Facility, helping maintain domestic manufacturing capability while reducing emissions from industrial supply chains.
The event will feature vessel tours, remarks from government and industry leaders, and an opportunity to meet the teams involved in delivering this significant project.
The vessel represents a significant investment in Australia's industrial and maritime future.
Key features include:
- World's first fully electric, battery-capable self-unloading bulk carrier
- Hybrid electric design, with approximately 50% of operations powered by battery and shore power at commissioning
- Approximately 40% reduction in Scope 1 emissions compared with the vessel it replaces
- Around 35% greater carrying capacity, improving supply chain efficiency
- Registered in Australia and operated by Australian crews
- 121 metres in length
🦺This event will be held within an operational industrial facility and on a working wharf.
All attendees must:
- Wear enclosed flat footwear
- Follow all site safety instructions
- Complete a brief safety induction upon arrival
- Wear PPE provided by event organisers where required
