Experience this iconic work performed by an exceptional ensemble of leading Baroque specialists from Melbourne in parternship with outstanding Gippsland performers.
Leading the performance is acclaimed violin soloist Matt Rigby, joined by an extraordinary continuo group featuring Samantha Cohen, one of Australia's foremost performers on theorbo and Baroque guitar; Peter Hagen on harpsichord; Craig Doherty on pipe organ; Roseanne Hunt, acclaimed Baroque cellist and co-founder of the Melbourne Baroque Orchestra; and Ian Crossfield on double bass.
They are joined by a distinguished string section featuring Jayne Neilson, Suzanne Ercoles, Yuko Yashido, Alicia Phipps, Katarina Yalizis, Damien Melis, Leah O'Sullivan, Ben Nicholson and Laura Gibb.
The concert takes place within the magnificent 118-year-old Warragul Anglican Church heritage building, renowned for its warm acoustics and remarkable collection of stained-glass windows from the original Melbourne St Paul's Cathedral. With seating for only 100 guests, this intimate setting offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the world's most beloved masterpieces exactly as chamber music should be heard: up close, immersive and unforgettable.
