About
The University of Sydney, in partnership with Cumberland City Council, is delivering free after-school workshops at the Merrylands and Auburn Library to support Year 11 and 12 students in Western Sydney. These workshops touch on HSC preparation, scholarship awareness and university readiness.Workshops:
Study Skills Workshop, 4:00pm
A practical session focused on helping students develop study techniques for HSC preparation. The workshop is not subject-specific and will provide strategies that can be applied across a wide range of subjects.
Topics:
• Develop effective study routines
• How to manage you time during senior school
• Learn study techniques that can be applied across different subjects
• Build confidence in preparing for assessments and exams
Scholarships Workshop, 5:00pm
A session providing guidance on applying for scholarships through the University of Sydney’s Single Scholarship Form. Students will learn how to structure responses effectively, with a focus on motivation, personal impact and skills development.
Topics:
• Introduction to the types of scholarships you may be eligible for
• The purpose of the Single Scholarship Form
• Demystifying the scholarship application process
• Encouraging students to consider applying for scholarships
• Increase awareness of financial and academic support available at university
