Strengthening Positive Online Behaviour
You are warmly invited to join us for an important presentation, Strengthening Positive Online Behaviour, on Wednesday 2 September from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
Raising children in today's connected world can feel challenging, but you are not doing it alone. Young people's online experiences shape their wellbeing, relationships, learning, and personal growth in profound ways, and as a school community, we are committed to supporting you as we help our children build the skills and habits they need to thrive online. This presentation draws on a professional learning program developed by Mrs Laura Brennan, Head of Student Wellbeing, during her time at Independent Schools NSW and completed by Meriden staff, and it has been designed with one goal in mind: to strengthen the partnership between home and school by giving you practical, reassuring tools and strategies you can use straight away.
This session is grounded in the latest research, including the NSW Government's Protecting Children and Adolescents from Cyberbullying: An Evidence Review of Risk and Protective Factors and Effective Interventions (2024), a thorough review of approximately 2,300 high-quality research studies across 105 peer-reviewed papers published between 2019 and 2024. What this research tells us is genuinely encouraging: when families and educators work together, we create the kind of positive, supportive environment young people need to flourish, both at school and at home. We hope you'll leave the evening feeling more confident and equipped, with practical, evidence-informed strategies to support your children in developing safe, respectful, and positive online behaviours.
We look forward to partnering with you as we continue to support the wellbeing and digital resilience of our students.
