Since its premiere in 2000, Karl Jenkins’ modern masterpiece, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace has been performed over 3,000 times. Its message remains as compelling as ever today. Written over the transition of the millennium, Jenkins reflects on the passing of ‘the most war-torn and destructive century in human history’. With epic music and text taken from many different cultures, history and religions, it captures the universal story of human suffering, and our ultimate need for peace and harmony. The Armed Man recently landed the #6 spot in ABC’s Classic 100: Greatest of All Time.Con Brio Choir (formerly Choral Productions Tasmania) is a Hobart-based community choir known for its quality performances of a wide variety of genres. Join the Director of Music Madeleine Dyer, over 100 singers, a full orchestra of local musicians and soprano soloist Michaela Young in the wonderful Farrall Centre for an unforgettable performance of this powerful work.
