Alexandra is a contralto, one of the rarest voice types, held by fewer than 1% of female singers. People reach for taste and texture to describe it: whisky, honey, dark chocolate, coffee. A big, deep, warm voice with weight and resonance you feel in your chest, filling a vintage lounge bar in Goodwood where the music doesn't play at you, it fills the space between you and everyone else in it.

Alexandra Frost and Ed Heddle return to Ginger's for a cabaret evening of jazz, blues, soul and gospel. Ten years of musical partnership you hear in every phrase, performed live and improvised in the moment. Ginger's is small enough that you'll see it happening close to you.

This is not background music. It is not a tribute show. It's an evening that moves across the full range of emotional experience, the artist's songs and stories side by side with her own, hearing your favourites alongside the occasional artist you've never met.

Arrive from 6pm for dinner: a Velvet Sledgehammer cocktail poured for the occasion, a smoky affogato for dessert, perhaps. Alternatively join us from 8pm for the show.

Bring your mum, make it a date night, or round up the friends who'd appreciate music that actually means something. This is the kind of evening you talk about on the drive home.
