Recorded live in a single take at her Melbourne home on a second-hand TASCAM four-track cassette recorder with partner and longtime collaborator Jess Ellwood, the song captures the warmth, imperfections and honesty of a real performance.
More than just a new single, You Will Cry is the blueprint for Annie-Rose's next album. Every song on the forthcoming record will be recorded the same way - at home, onto tape, with instinct leading the process and authenticity taking precedence over perfection.
Following the independent success of her debut album Circle Walking, Annie-Rose returns for a rare headline performance, sharing songs from her catalogue alongside the new single and offering a glimpse into the next chapter of her songwriting.
Supported by Planet:pain, this promises to be an intimate evening of heartfelt songs, tape-worn textures and stories told exactly as they happened.
