The HPSS Award is detailed, and small assumptions around classifications, rosters, ordinary hours, overtime, allowances or salary settings can make it difficult to know whether employment practices are on the right track.The session will be delivered by Peter Norrie, EWS Payroll Specialist, and is designed for practice owners, managers and payroll decision-makers who are responsible for getting employment and payroll settings right.
Peter will cover:
Award coverage, classifications and common mistakes when applying the HPSS Award
Employment types, rostering, ordinary hours, overtime and penalty rates
Salaries, annualised wage arrangements and payroll reconciliation
Shiftwork, allowances and common areas where underpayments can occur
2026–2027 Award changes, including Schedule J translation and the impact on dental assistants and support workers
