About

The Rotary Club of Emerald and District proudly organised the annual Kids Fun Run in support of a local children's charity.

The event is being held on Sunday 29 November 2026 at Puffing Billy Railway Station, Gembrook.

We promote the concept of 'Kids Running for Kids' and funds raised support a local children's cause. This year we are supporting Eastern Health (which includes the Angliss Hospital).

Train rides are only $5 per ticket for rides that travel alongside the runners.

For Joy Rides (which are longer) a variety of ticket options are available when booking.

IF YOU NEED TO SUPERVISE YOUR CHILD DURING THEIR RUN DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRAIN RIDE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE RUN THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN.

Train Rides on Puffing Billy that travel alongside the runs - $5 per ticket

Two Special Joy Rides run on the day at 11.10 am and 1.05 pm. Pricing for the Joy Rides are as follows:

Children 15 and under + concession - $10
Adults - $15
Family Ticket - $40 (2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children 15 and under)

Train Ride Timetable

The Rides go from the station, up the track to the start of that particular fun run and then sets off back to the station with the children running alongside – trying to beat the train. Passengers on the train have the added joy of having the little ones running with them. The duration and length of the train ride corresponds with the fun run.

Joyrides 1 & 2 go from the station up the track and then return to the station – a 20 min (approx.) round trip.
