The Candelo Snow Day and Billy Cart Derby is back !and this year we plan to be BIGGER and BETTER with another HUGE family fun filled day planned out at Candelo Showground, Sunday 16th August 2026
experience SNOW in Candelo and the thrills and spills of a Billy Cart Derby
there will be hours of snow tube riding fun in our snow slalom track YES on REAL SNOW ! ! ! and a new and improved kids snow play area
and for something more fast paced there will be a Billy Cart Derby on the day with cash prizes on offer for speed trials, best decorated cart and fastest course time all run safely by the Cooma Car Club (competitors must agree to terms and conditions prior to the derby)
There will be food and drinks available on the day and more entertainment announced soon

Billy Cart Derby - all entrants will be required to attend scrutineering together with their cart and safety gear as listed below with their entry form from 10am Sunday 16th August at the Candelo Showground
Billy Cart Specifications:
No more than 6 wheels no less than 3 wheels
Max width 1200mm
Max length 2400mm
All carts are to be powered only by gravity
No carts are to have any sharp or dangerous protrusions
All carts must have safe working brakes
Safety Gear:
full face helmet
gloves
elbow guards
enclosed shoes
long pants
long sleeved shirt

CANDELO SNOW DAY & BILLY CART DERBY
PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION
OF RISK
The Candelo Snow Day & Billy Cart Derby ("Event") is organised by the Event Organising Committee, its officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors and associated parties ("Organisers").
By purchasing a ticket, attending the Event, or participating in any Event activity, each participant acknowledges and agrees to the following:
1. Acknowledgement of Risks
I understand that participation in Event activities involves inherent and foreseeable risks, including but not limited to:
Slips, trips and falls on snow, ice, wet surfaces, grass, gravel, roads and pathways.
Collisions with other participants, barriers, equipment, vehicles or structures.
Injuries arising from snow tubing, tyre sliding, tobogganing, snow play activities and associated attractions.
Injuries arising from participation in, or attendance at, the Billy Cart Derby.
Equipment failure, misuse or malfunction.
Weather-related hazards including rain, wind, cold temperatures and reduced visibility.
Physical exertion resulting in strains, sprains, fractures, concussion or other injuries.
Risks associated with crowds, spectators and general public events.
Injury, illness, permanent disability or death.
I acknowledge that these risks cannot be completely eliminated.
2. Voluntary Participation
I voluntarily choose to participate in the Event and assume all risks associated with my attendance and participation.
I accept personal responsibility for my actions and conduct while attending the Event.
3. Health and Fitness
I declare that I am physically capable of participating in the activities I choose to undertake.
I understand that it is my responsibility to assess my own fitness and suitability for participation.
I agree not to participate if I am affected by alcohol, drugs, illness, injury or any condition that may place myself or others at risk.
4. Compliance with Directions
I agree to:
Follow all instructions provided by Organisers, volunteers, marshals and safety personnel.
Use equipment only as directed.
Comply with all safety rules, signage and operational procedures.
Wear any required safety equipment.
Behave responsibly and with consideration for other participants.
I understand that Organisers may refuse participation or remove any person whose behaviour is considered unsafe.
5. Parents and Guardians
Where tickets are purchased for a person under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian:
Consents to the child's participation.
Accepts the risks associated with participation on behalf of the child.
Agrees to supervise the child where required.
Accepts responsibility for ensuring the child follows all safety directions.
6. Release and Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and discharge the Organisers, landowners, sponsors, volunteers, contractors, suppliers and associated parties from any claim, demand, action, liability, loss, damage, cost or expense arising from or connected with my attendance at or participation in the Event.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organisers against any claim arising from my negligent, reckless or unlawful conduct.
Nothing in this waiver excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable Australian law.
7. Event Changes and Cancellation
I acknowledge that activities may be altered, delayed, suspended or cancelled due to weather conditions, safety concerns, operational requirements or circumstances beyond the Organisers' control.
The Organisers reserve the right to modify the Event program in the interests of safety.
8. Medical Treatment
In the event of injury or illness, I authorise Organisers to obtain emergency medical treatment on my behalf where necessary.
I acknowledge that any associated costs remain my responsibility.
9. Photography and Media
I acknowledge that photographs, video recordings and other media may be captured during the Event.
Unless I notify the Organisers otherwise in writing prior to the Event, I grant permission for my image and likeness to be used for promotional, marketing, media and historical purposes without compensation.
10. Acceptance
By purchasing a ticket, registering for, attending or participating in the Event, I confirm that:
I have read and understood this Waiver and Risk Acknowledgement.
I understand the risks associated with participation.
I voluntarily accept those risks.
I agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Where purchasing tickets for others, I confirm I have authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
I acknowledge that I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to make certain claims against the Organisers, to the extent permitted by law.
