Greek Women Speak - mid-year catch up!

In February 2026, Koraly Dimitriadis launched the symposium Greek Women Speak: smashing taboos in multicultural Australia. This day brough taboo conversations out into the public sphere and featured speakers from Melbourne and Sydney as well the #metoo film TACK from Greece. Feedback gathered since that event has been that the women want to catch up and we have heard you!WHAT IS THE CATCH UP?
Greek Women Speak catch up is an afternoon of catch ups and whatever you like. Come and listen or come and speak! The Brunswick Green has a small room where we can close the door and say whatever we want. It also has a small stage which will be transformed into a small arts shop. Bring your books or art to sell! It has a capacity of 50 so please book early.
PROGRAM
2-2:30pm - catch up with others, arts sellers bring your items to the stage
2:30 - 3:30 - 10 x 5 minute slots to say whatever you like. Perform a song. Read some poems. Tell a story about something that happened to you that you want to share. Or something that happened recently that pissed you off. Talk about your impression of Greek Women Speak. Rant about your frustrations. Tell us what is missing, what you want to see more of in our community. Let it out! Register early if you want to speak, first come first serve! There will be a bell to stop you going over 5 minutes so time yourself!
3:30 - 4pm talk some more, we will bring a few snacks, nothing major, but just to replenish you! Buy art and books!
4 - 5pm 10 x 5 min slots. Again, tell us whatever you want
5 - 5:30 Buy art and books, snack on leftovers, de-brief, fill in the feedback form
QUESTIONS
Do I have to be Greek to speak? No. But please connect the theme to multicultural feminism
Can I speak if I am a man? Yes. But please connect the theme to multicultural feminism
Can I decide to speak on the day? Yes there will be a waitlist on the day. Just buy an "attend" ticket and then arrive at 2pm and ask to register on the waitlist
If I didn't go to Greek Women Speak can I still attend? Yes you can. Ticket sales will first go out to those who registered attended either online or in-person and then tickets will be sold outside of that group, but if you attended and want to bring a friend, that's fine!
