ABOUT MATRU / PITRU PADA PUJA
A Celebration of Love and Reverence for Parents
This beautiful tradition instils reverence, gratitude, and love within the child while awakening deep emotions and sentiments within the hearts of parents.
Our scriptures remind us:
“Matru Devo Bhava” – Mother is our first God
“Pitru Devo Bhava” – Father is our second God
Through love and reverence for our parents, children naturally learn to extend that same devotion and love towards the Supreme Lord of the entire Cosmos.
Our mothers and fathers have given us so much throughout our lives — their unconditional love, care, sacrifices, and guidance. During this month of November, let us take this opportunity to honour them by bringing them to Chinmaya Sannidhi Ashram or Strathfield South Public School and performing Pada Puja as an expression of our love, gratitude, and respect.
Children of all ages, young or senior, all are welcome to participate, as long as they are able to sit and perform the Puja.
Swami Shrikaranandaji will guide the children step by step, enabling them to personally perform Pada Puja and worship their parents with devotion and humility.
Let us come together to celebrate the sacred bond between parents and children and offer our heartfelt gratitude to those who have given us everything.
