Let’s go back in time to Grandma’s day, where the best crystal and lace were in daily use, or at least reserved for special occasions - afternoon tea perhaps? Helen has collected lots of pieces of vintage crystal and lace and of course has experimented with them on the Gel Plates - with fabulously textured results!There is a bit of a learning curve, but this workshop is suitable for anyone willing to experiment and just have fun making beautifully textured mono prints on our workshop Gel Plates. Helen will be on hand to teach the basics (or refresh) of gel printing, and how to get the best out of the bumps and grooves of the crystal bowls and dishes, and pieces of lace. Beginners and experienced gel printers will all enjoy the challenge of printing with some different materials.
This is a very playful process, where nothing is wrong, anything goes, and our mantra is if you don’t like the print, just add another layer… and another…. until it’s gorgeous.
We will finish the workshop by choosing your favourite print of the day and using it to cover a very useful notebook or sketchbook - we’re sure Grandma had one just like it!
This workshop is perfect for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists, and promises a splash of colour, joy, and fabulous fun!
Everything is provided, even an apron, and you will take home your covered notebook and all the pretty prints you have made.
