About
"We all know when we hear a song that rings with truth. Whether the words are clear or ambiguous, coming from an amateur or professional, there's a feeling that comes from a song written from a deep, authentic place." — John FlanaganIn this intimate 4-week live online course, acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter John Flanagan, whose songwriting has been compared to the great folk troubadours of the 60s and 70s, shares the creative tools he's developed across twenty years of writing and performing.

Testimonials:
"John created a rich and supportive learning experience, with generous resources suited to multiple levels of experience, and an encouraging, skilful presence. The sessions were a great mix of listening, trying things out and opportunities to share work and receive feedback. I loved it, and finished my first song in ages!" - Rachel (experienced songwriter)
“John and the group provided a safe and encouraging space to really dig around in some vulnerable lyrical spaces. As a new arrival to songcraft it gave me the confidence to experiment and lay bare some thoughts and feelings that had been waiting for somewhere to go. The group was so supportive and operates within your own critique boundaries. He deftly catered for newbies and seasoned songwriters alike. I have learned so much. I was initially anxious, but as they say, the things just outside your comfort zone are where the good stuff is. Do it, I’m really grateful I did.” - (Beginner songwriter)
"This course broadened my songwriting pallette and opened my eyes to new possibilities which I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and play around with. John gathered a group of songwriters of differing experience and kindly and expertly guided us as we gave birth to new songs, with all the laughter and tears that that entails – an absolute joy!"
