Move harder. Listen deeper. Train inside the Scimm. Dance world.Our Open Classes return for Term 3, giving intermediate to advanced dancers the opportunity to train alongside our full-time Pre-Professional dancers every Friday.
Choose from our weekly morning class with Artistic Directors Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes, or join a rotating line-up of leading guest artists across contemporary, commercial, lyrical and heels.
Classes are open to intermediate–advanced, pre-professional and professional-level dancers who are confident learning choreography at pace.
FRIDAY MORNING: SCIMM. OPEN CLASS
9:45am–11:15am | $25 per class
Led together by Artistic Directors Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes, these classes explore the signature Scimm. style: physical, grounded and deeply musical.
Expect a fusion of contemporary movement and classical-based technique, driven by deep house beats and sharpened with a commercial edge. Each class is designed to challenge your coordination, dynamics, stamina and individuality while pushing you to move with greater freedom and intention.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: GUEST OPEN CLASS
1:30pm-3:00pm | $25 per class
Train with some of the industry’s most exciting artists and expand your versatility through a changing program of styles, movement languages and creative approaches.
Each guest class offers a new challenge while providing the opportunity to train in our supportive, professional full-time environment.

Location: Australian Academy of Dance (80 Waverley Rd, Malvern East)
Level: Intermediate - Advanced
Price: $25 per class
Duration: 90 minutes
Only 15 external places are available for each class. Bookings are essential and there will be no door sales.
WHAT TO WEAR
For contemporary and lyrical classes, dancers can train barefoot or in socks.
Sneakers for commercial classes. Heels for Jordan Elise’s heels class.
