An enchanting musical journey from the shores of the Aegean to the depths of the human soul.

Some concerts entertain. Others transport us. Greek Rhapsody is an invitation to experience the beauty, passion and timeless elegance of Greek music like never before.

The ancient Greeks gave us the word Rhapsodia—a weaving together of stories from the days of Homer. Over time, in music, a rhapsody became a composition that flows freely, allowing contrasting moods, colours and themes to unfold naturally. In that same spirit, Greek Rhapsody brings together voices, strings, piano and bouzouki to weave a rich tapestry of sound, inviting audiences on an unforgettable journey through the heart and soul of Greece.

Musically directed by Dimitri Fotiadis, whose original arrangements breathe new life into some of Greece's most treasured melodies. His arrangements embrace the warmth of traditional Greek music while elevating it through the elegance and colour of a chamber ensemble, allowing every instrument to speak with its own voice.

Popular vocalist Apostolos Fotiadis, after a distinguished career in Greece as a recording artist and live performer, now proudly calls Perth home. He brings his authentic stage presence and heartfelt interpretation to every performance. Joining him is the enchanting Angelica Zafiris with the angelic voice that has captivated local audiences and who recently shared the stage with Dimitris Basis making her one of Perth's exciting emerging voices.

Adding another dimension is the acclaimed Darlington String Quartet (Quartet-in Residence at WAPAA), who have captivated audiences both in Australia and abroad. Fresh from performances in Europe, including in Chalki, Greece, the quartet brings an extraordinary depth, elegance and emotional richness to the evening.

Completing the ensemble is the incredible bouzouki virtuoso John Sayas, whose musicianship preserves the authentic heartbeat of Greek music.

Following years of presenting outstanding cultural productions, George Georgiou’s passion has brought together an outstanding collective of artists. Through his vision, Greek Rhapsody celebrates not only the enduring beauty of Greek music but also the remarkable talent found within our own community.

More than a concert, Greek Rhapsody is a celebration of memory, culture and belonging. It is an evening where music becomes storytelling, where every arrangement reveals new colours, and where audiences are invited to close their eyes, breathe deeply and journey from the shores of the Aegean to the depths of the human soul.
