Credit Control in Home Care and Residential Aged Care
About
Date: Wednesday 2 September 2026, 12.00 PM - 1.30 PM AESTWho should attend: This online training is relevant to management, finance, accounts and admissions teams.
With the rising cost of living, aged care providers face an increased risk of consumers failing to pay their fees. However, as a sector under the close scrutiny of regulators and the public, providers must be careful not to infringe the rights of consumers in recovering their debts.
In this webinar we will discuss a range of practical strategies you can implement to minimise the risk of bad debts and maximise the prospects of successfully recovering unpaid fees.
Topics covered will include:
- Agreements - how to complete agreements to minimise the risk of a resident or consumer defaulting on their fees.
- Tips and tricks for using guarantees and caveats.
- The rights and obligations of providers when a consumer falls behind on their fees including who is the appropriate person to contact.
- Debt management strategies including security of tenure, applying to the Tribunal and suing the resident.
- The session will be presented by Anita Courtney and Johanna Heaven who both regularly assist aged care providers in recovering unpaid fees and in making applications to the Tribunal, as well as Suzanne Rieschieck of our Commercial Litigation and Retirement Living team and Mitch Watkins bringing Litigation and Enforcement expertise.
We can offer invoicing for groups of five or more attendees. These bookings will also receive a 5% group discount. Please contact the events team at: events@rk.com.au
