PRESENCE© in Practice
About
How can positive psychology help us translate healthy lifestyle knowledge into meaningful, sustainable action?Following her presentation at the European Conference on Positive Psychology in Dublin, Linda Rowley invites you to join her for this engaging 60-minute online session exploring the PRESENCE© model, a practical, evidence-informed framework that bridges positive psychology, neuroscience and lifestyle medicine.
PRESENCE© brings together eight modifiable lifestyle elements that support mental wellbeing, brain health and cognitive reserve:
Protect Your Head, Reduce Risks, Exercise, Sleep, Eat Nutritiously, Nurture Your Mind, Connect with Others, and Engage Your Intellect.
We often know that sleep, movement, nutrition, connection and stress recovery matter. The harder part is turning that knowledge into daily habits that are realistic, meaningful and sustainable, especially when life is busy, stressful or unpredictable.
This is where positive psychology has so much to offer.
In this session, Linda will explore how practices such as gratitude, mindfulness, self-compassion, character strengths, kindness and hope can help people move from knowing what supports wellbeing to actually doing it.
In this session, you will explore:
• the PRESENCE© model and its eight lifestyle elements
• the neuroscience linking everyday habits with mental wellbeing and brain health
• how lifestyle behaviours may support cognitive reserve and healthy ageing
• why multimodal approaches are important for body, brain and mind
• how positive psychology can support motivation, adherence and behaviour change
• practical ways to apply PRESENCE© in coaching, wellbeing, workplace, health promotion and community settings
This session is ideal for:
• positive psychology practitioners
• coaches and facilitators
• workplace wellbeing professionals
• psychologists, counsellors and allied health practitioners
• educators and health promotion practitioners
