Experience an unforgettable evening of choral music in the iconic Elder Hall, one of Australia's most treasured concert venues. Home to the Elder Conservatorium of Music since 1900, Elder Hall is renowned for its heritage architecture and exceptional acoustics, providing the perfect setting to celebrate the richness and diversity of South Australia's vibrant choral community.This special concert is included with conference registration at no additional cost. Additional tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased via this site.
Sing, Move, Thrive: Choirs Alive showcases an outstanding lineup of South Australian ensembles alongside special interstate guests:
Young Adelaide Voices – featuring their First Concert Choir of talented young singers as well as their acclaimed women's ensemble, Aurora.
Young Voices Melbourne – travelling from Victoria to collaborate with Young Adelaide Voices and perform at the Kodály Conference
South Australian Public Primary Schools Choir (SAPPS Choir) – the flagship choir of South Australia's Festival of Music, showcasing excellence in public education.
The Adelaide Choral Ambassadors – a vibrant choir dedicated to performing Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and celebrating Philippine culture through the power of choral music.
Elder Conservatorium Chorale – a mixed-voice choir whose members come from the Elder Conservatorium of Music, the University of Adelaide, other universities and the wider community.
The Festival Statesmen Chorus – an internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning male a cappella chorus based in Adelaide.
The concert will also feature the world premiere of a specially commissioned work for young singers by acclaimed South Australian composer Annie Kwok, commissioned by Kodály SA for the 2026 Kodály Australia National Conference Choir Concert. Following the conference, this new work will be made freely available to Kodály Australia members.
To conclude the evening, renowned conductor, educator and composer Carl Crossin will lead a combined choir in a specially arranged finale created exclusively for this concert. Carl is also the composer of the Conference Choir work commissioned by Kodály SA.
Together, these exciting new Australian compositions celebrate the creativity, diversity and bright future of choral music in Australia.
