New to playing jazz? Perhaps you've been trying to learn jazz for a while but it just hasn't quite made sense. Or maybe you're just looking to brush up on your fundamentals.The sublime experience of jazz improvisation is all about that thrilling moment of creating something out of nothing. Yet that same moment can be terrifying and cause us to freeze completely.
What if you could build that confidence in a room full of like-minded peers?
In our Jazz Improv Classroom, learning is rooted in shared personal experience and self-discovery. We play first, and then explain later. Under an experienced instructor's guidance, you'll hear yourself playing notes that sound good first, and then we'll help you understand it so you can do it yourself in the future.
The Jazz Improv Classroom is designed to be repeated. Come together with friends new and old as we continue chipping away at this endlessly enjoyable art form. Try it for the first time, you'll discover new freedom. Even after the hundredth time, you'll still be discovering further musical depth. That's the beauty of the process.
Once you've experienced what sounds good, you'll develop an instinct for what note comes next, instead of obsessing over what's 'correct'.
