Vix & The Slick Chix –The Sunshine Coast’s Soulful Queens of the Blues return to Maleny Lane, Friday August 28th 6-9pm.
This all-female Blues band brings an onstage energy that’s nothing short of contagious.
Their unique recipe for the Blues? One part Chicago, a few drops of Soul, a good dash of Gospel, and just a pinch of Country — served HOT, with a big sound and a double helping of joy!
With an unmistakable passion for the genre, 'The Chix' pour every ounce of emotion into each performance, breathing new life into some of the greatest Blues classics ever written. Their original tunes sit comfortably alongside the legends, making every set a crowd-pleasing, foot-stomping celebration of the Blues.
At the heart of the band is Vix —an accomplished Blues aficionado, with a commanding stage presence and a powerhouse voice to match.
Backing her up is bass player extraordinaire Aleathea Monsour, whose sweet and melodic harmonies blend seamlessly with Vix’s smoky vocals to create a rich, soulful soundscape that could melt the hardest of hearts.
Setting the rhythmic grooves is second generation Drummer Nicole Perry, whose driving style lays down the solid foundation The Chix thrive on.
And with Mana Eshragh Tabari...the best female harmonica player in town, adding her magic, Vix & The Chix deliver an unforgettable live experience — one that Blues lovers simply can’t afford to miss.
