🎵 Grab Your Mic, Warm Up Your Vocals, and Pass the Hopper! 🎵Ballarat’s Sri Lankan community is coming together for a night of absolute music, rhythm, and structural damage to our vocal cords! The SLAAB Karaoke & Paduru Party is officially here to turn up the volume and bring our community closer than ever.
We’re kicking things off by celebrating our brightest stars—our kids! Watch them take the stage to showcase their incredible talents through songs, dances, and musical instruments (earplugs for proud parents optional, but highly recommended). Next up, it’s your time to shine with Karaoke singing. Whether you're a seasoned soloist, part of a chaotic group duet, or someone who only sings in the shower, the mic is open and completely judgment-free.
Finally, we’ll bring it all home with the ultimate Paduru Party—a massive, collective sing-along where everyone joins in, backed by a mix of traditional and modern instruments.
Why are we doing this? (Besides the Hoppers!)
Beyond the stage lights and high notes, this event is all about community cohesion. Living in regional Victoria, our community is our extended family. This night is a unique opportunity to strengthen those bonds, bridge generational gaps, and ensure our rich cultural traditions thrive right here in Ballarat. By singing, laughing, and helping each other out, we’re building a tighter, more supportive network for everyone.
