About
Sophie Cowall, a gifted young mezzo-soprano whose rich, expressive voice and remarkable musical maturity suggest a very bright future in opera, and Evan O'Connor, an outstanding young baritone who has already performed with companies including Melbourne Opera and currently serves as Principal Viola of the Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO), will present a delightful recital.They will be joined by collaborative pianist Eric An, a senior piano student at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS), and pianist Berta Brozgul as associate artist. They will giver a beautifully varied program featuring solo vocal works, operatic and concert duets, chamber music for voice, viola and piano, and a selection of well-loved art songs and classical repertoire.
Earlier this year, Sophie, Evan and Eric presented a live-to-air recital on Melbourne's 3MBS Fine Music radio, where their performance was warmly received by listeners.
This recital promises an enjoyable and memorable musical experience, combining beautiful repertoire with outstanding performances.
Doors open for refreshments 11.45 am. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided - BYO sandwiches
