FUNKY VEG Still Life Class
About
Join me for a 3 hour still life painting class, featuring an arrangement of weird and wonderful veggies you’d usually walk right past at the market. It’s a beginner-friendly class to get into oil paints and explore the creative possibilities of painting.Guided by Dhishni de Silva, the session begins with loose ink painting and sketching of the arrangement. You’ll be taught about colour theory and encouraged to explore and experiment with fun colour combos.
You’ll also learn how to take a new perspective on these funky veggies, exploring what shapes and textures could inspire your painting. We provide brushes, oil paints and a canvas board for the class, so just bring yourself! However please wear clothes you don’t mind possibly getting stained, and feel free to bring an apron.
At the end of the class, you’ll leave with your drawings and painted piece, or if you’d prefer, you can leave your painting at RU.MA studio to fully dry and pick it up at a later date.
This workshop is about having fun, making with no pressure, and letting your feelings in the moment guide what you create.
There will be homemade cake, snacks and tea provided!
