About
Sat 1 Aug: Songwriters In the Round - Live in the Loft @Dunkirk Hotel, 3-6pmSongwriters: Paula Punch, Tao, Tim Leach, Rob Carrick
The idea is to have 3 or 4 songwriters, all on stage, playing one song at a time, so each will get to play maybe 6 songs in tota
PAULA PUNCH
Paula Punch songs reflect the stories of her life. They are tinged with hope, yearning, and themes of finding one’s empowerment and narratives about our precious natural world. While her music is hard to define, she would say she is an indie folk rocker with an alt country flavour. While she always wrote poetry, and sang in choirs and bands, she only started writing music when she was home alone with 2 young boys.
TAO
Tao plays original music that is hard to pigeon hole. His songs are a diverse mix of rhythms and arrangements that merge Indi Pop, Folk and Indi Rock with a hint of the Blues.
He plays regularly at clubs, pubs and community events, either solo or as a member of the Awesome Plums and The Low Hanging Fruit. A new CD will be out in the next couple of months.
TIM LEACH
Tim Leach is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter who has been playing music for as long as he can remember and has been a familiar face on the local open mic circuit for more than a decade.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of artists, Tim's music reflects influences from iconic Australian acts such as Cold Chisel, Hunters & Collectors, and Tex, Don and Charlie, alongside international favourites including Crowded House, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jason Isbell, and Jeff Buckley.
Through his career, Tim has travelled extensively around the world, collecting stories, experiences, and encounters that often find their way into his songwriting. His original songs are shaped by the remarkable places he's visited and the memorable people he's met along the way, blending thoughtful storytelling with a distinctly Australian perspective.
ROB CARRICK
Rob Carrick is a singer-songwriter, trombone player, arranger and published author based in Millers Point, Sydney, Australia. Rob’s original songs span an eclectic range of styles including; rock, blues, jazz and ragtime. Rob regularly plays trombone with indie rock band VICTA in venues across Sydney’s inner west and recordings of his original music are available on all digital platforms, and on vinyl.
Hosted by Russell Neal
