About
With the Kyrie from Rossini's theatrical Petite Messe Solennelle as its centrepiece, this program explores a rich diversity of musical styles and genres. It spans the serene beauty of the Renaissance in Jean Mouton's Ave Maria through to contemporary works by Kate Bush and The Highwomen.Along the way, we celebrate masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic traditions with music by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and Brahms, complemented by a traditional German lullaby and a moving setting of an elegiac poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
The result is a musical feast offering something to delight every listener.
