Now in its 12th year, The Qld Theatre Compnay's Scene Project is a statewide participatory project that involves secondary schools (Years 7-12) in the creative process of performance, from rehearsal through to presentation.2026 see's 3 groups of Toolooa SHS Students from Yrs 7-12 creating their own interpretations of the play ICARUS - Reworked, a reimagining the myth of ICARUS - which tells the tragic story of a boy who, along with his father Daedalus, escaped imprisonment on the island of Crete using wings made of feathers and beeswax. Ignoring his father's warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, melting the wax and falling to his death in the ocean.
This event is an opportunity for students to have a dress rehearsal in-front of an audience and for the school community to watch their children perform.
