About the Artist:
I am a Melbourne based photographer born in Germany. I spent my youth in Germany and came to Sydney for postgraduate studies. Australia was love at first sight for me and I migrated to Melbourne permanently in 2002.
Growing up in a village, I have a strong connection to nature which was fostered especially by my grandfather through regular forest walks in my childhood.
While I had an early interest in photography I finally found the freedom to pursue this interest through studies and investment of time. I have completed a Pro Certificate of Photography with the Photography Studies College in South Melbourne and am currently enrolled in a Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging. Both courses have opened me to various genres and photographic techniques.
In this series I am exploring the incredible beauty of hydrangea flowers, fresh and dried, through photography on a lightpad and various post processing methods.
