OAA Twilight Online event
About
Speaker Prof Alan Finkel AC - Australia's 8th Chief Scientist from 2016 - 2020AI is ubiquitous and it is a powerful tool that can serve our society well. However, like cars, medicines and electricity, along with the benefits comes a spectrum of risks. One of the risks is that AI can be prompted to produce books, songs and videos that are then presented without disclosure as if they were created by humans. That undermines the essence of being human - human creators are proud of what they produce, and human creativity should be celebrated. We deserve to know who authored what we are about to read, listen to or watch so that we can make an informed choice between human-created and AI-generated products. National governments are absent without leave, so Alan founded a company named Proudly Human to verify and label human-created content, services and products and in his presentation Alan will describe the importance and the challenges of preserving human creativity from the AI onslaught.
