About
Jewellery has long been more than adornment. Across cultures and centuries it has marked love, remembrance, protection, faith and personal identity. On Reflection invites participants to explore this enduring tradition through the creation of bespoke jewellery that is both personal and enduring.Presented by Silent Dove during Melbourne Fashion Week, this intimate two-hour workshop offers an opportunity to step inside the studio practice behind the couture collections. Guests will gain insight into the design process through a curated selection of Silent Dove works before creating their own jewellery using freshwater pearls, natural stones such as rose quartz and amethyst, resin-encased textiles and other carefully selected materials.
Guided through foundational jewellery construction techniques, participants are encouraged to consider the symbolism of colour, material and form, creating a piece that reflects something uniquely their own.
Sparkling wine will be served throughout the workshop in an intimate studio setting. Each guest will leave with a handcrafted jewellery piece to wear and keep.
No previous jewellery-making experience is required.
