Common Questions:
Do I need to camp overnight?
No. This is an intro ride so there is no need to camp overnight.
What time does the ride base open?
7am Sunday morning.
What do I do when I arrive?
7.00-7.45am Enter at the Office - Unload your horse and secure them, then head to the office with your Horse Health Declaration. The office will give you a bib with your ride number on it and a vet card.
8.00am Vetting opens - head to the vet ring with your horse, wearing your bib number, and with your vet card, for a run through of the vetting process. We will then start doing a mock vetting of the horses.
9.00am Pre-ride talk - head back to the office (without your horse) for a compulsory run through of the track and ride rules.
9.30am 15km Ride Starts - marshal next to the vet ring.
10.00am 5km Ride Starts - marshal next to the vet ring.
Will there be info sessions?
Yes. There will be some info sessions before you start but we will hold most of the info sessions after you finish to ensure you ride in the coollest part of the day. You can choose to attend the info sessions or leave after you have completed the ride and vetted your horse, its completly up to you.
Will there be a canteen?
Yes. There will be a BBQ and cold drinks available to purchase at lunch time. We will have cash and card facilities available.
Do I need a PIC (Property Identification Code)?
Yes. Every property with livestock in NSW is required by law to have a PIC. Register free online on the Local Land Services website.
What do I need to bring?
In addition to your usual tack, make sure you pack a few buckets (some for strapping your horse and some for their drinking water).
A sponge, a towel (for your horse) and a rug if the weather is cool or wet.
A stethoscope, if you own one (don't worry it you dont).
Plenty of hay for your horse, they will be hungry after their big ride.
Hoof boots (if your horse isn't shod we recommend boots).
Your helmet (no helmet, no ride).
Drinking water and snacks for yourself, and a folding chair.

Can I use a whip or spurs?
No, these are not allowed in endurance riding.
