This is more than an art workshop. It is a welcoming space to slow down, reflect, create and connect with others who understand the profound bond we share with our animals.
About Your Facilitator
Facilitated by Brydee Lee, a qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in grief, bereavement, end-of-life care and loss, as well as experience in animal care and rehabilitation.
Brydee also brings more than 20 years of professional experience in photography, film and television, including traditional darkroom photography, film processing, photographic printing, negatives and analogue photographic processes.
Combining photographic expertise, experience with animals and grief-informed practice creates a unique experience for honouring a beloved companion.
During the Workshop You Will…
* Bring a few favourite digital photographs of your animal companion to choose from during the workshop.
* Learn how photographs are transformed into digital negatives for photographic printing.
* Create botanical prints using cyanotype and SolarFast processes.
* Test your image before creating your final print, allowing you to make adjustments and experiment with the photographic process.
* Incorporate meaningful botanical elements and personal mementoes such as collars, tags, toys, feathers, shells or fur into your artwork.
* Enjoy a relaxed day of creativity, reflection and connection.
No artistic or photography experience is required. Everything is guided step-by-step.
You’ll Take Home
* One A3 botanical memorial print
* One hand-printed botanical cotton tote bag
Both will be created during the workshop as lasting reminders of your beloved companion.
What’s Provided
All photographic, printing and botanical materials are provided, along with tea, coffee and refreshments.
BYO lunch. A refrigerator is available on site.
Weather permitting, prints will be exposed outdoors using natural sunlight. If conditions change, we’ll continue indoors using a professional UV exposure unit.
Private Workshops Available
Numbers are limited to six participants to preserve the intimate nature of the experience.
Private bookings are also available for:
