Art Workshop: Honour Your Beloved Animal Friend
About
Over the Rainbow Bridge 🐾🌈Create a Botanical Memorial of a Beloved Pet
Create a beautiful framed A4 botanical memorial and hand-printed botanical tote bag in honour of a beloved companion, while sharing a gentle day of creativity, remembrance and connection.
“Grief is just love with nowhere to go”
— Jamie Anderson
The loss of a beloved pet leaves an imprint on our hearts unlike any other. Whether your companion crossed the Rainbow Bridge weeks, months or many years ago, their memory deserves to be honoured, celebrated and lovingly remembered.
Join us for a unique, full-day memorial experience where photography, botanical art and remembrance come together to create two beautiful keepsakes celebrating the life and love you shared with your beloved companion.
This is far more than an art workshop. It is a gentle space to slow down, reflect, create and connect with others who understand the profound bond we share with our animals.
Whether you choose quiet reflection or wish to share stories of your beloved companion, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, supportive environment where every pet’s story matters.

About Your Facilitator
This experience is facilitated by Brydee Lee, a qualified Social Worker with extensive experience supporting people through grief, bereavement, end-of-life care and loss.
Alongside my clinical background, I bring more than 20 years’ experience in photography, film and television, having worked professionally in camera departments across both still and motion picture production.
My background includes:
• Traditional darkroom photography
• Film processing and photographic printing
• Exposure and printing from photographic negatives
• Contact printing techniques
• Still photography
• 8 mm and 16 mm motion picture film
• Analogue photographic processes
By combining traditional photographic techniques with botanical printing and grief-informed practice, this workshop offers a truly unique way to honour the memory of a beloved companion.
Participants will experience the magic of creating a photographic print using one of the earliest photographic processes, transformed into a lasting botanical memorial.
⸻
During the Workshop You Will…
• Bring several favourite digital photographs of your pet.
• Learn how photographs are transformed into digital negatives and printed onto professional inkjet transparency film for photographic exposure.
• Create beautiful botanical prints using either Cyanotype or SolarFast photographic printing processes.
• Wander the on-site gardens to collect botanicals that speak to you, choose from a beautiful collection provided, or bring your own meaningful botanical specimens from home.
• Bring personal mementoes such as collars, ID tags, favourite toys, feathers, shells, a clipping of fur or other treasured keepsakes that celebrate your companion’s life.
• Incorporate botanical elements and personal mementoes into your artwork to create something deeply personal.
• Enjoy a relaxed day of creativity, reflection and gentle conversation with others who understand pet loss.
• Create two beautiful keepsakes to take home.
⸻
No Artistic Experience Required
No previous art or photography experience is required.
Everything is guided step-by-step in a relaxed, welcoming environment where the focus is on remembering, creating and celebrating the unique relationship you shared.
Every botanical memorial will be as individual as the companion it honours.
⸻
You’ll Take Home
• One framed A4 botanical memorial portrait, ready to display in your home.
• One hand-printed botanical cotton tote bag, created during the workshop as a beautiful everyday reminder of your beloved companion.
⸻
Weather
If conditions are suitable, we’ll expose our prints outdoors using natural sunlight.
Should the weather change, the workshop will continue indoors using a professional UV exposure unit, allowing everyone to experience the complete photographic printing process regardless of the forecast.
⸻
Workshop Fee
$280 per person
Your workshop fee covers all photographic materials, digital negative preparation, botanical materials, professional framing of your A4 botanical memorial, your hand-printed botanical cotton tote bag, refreshments and a full day of creative facilitation.
⸻
A Gentle Space to Remember
There is no expectation to share your story, although many people find comfort in connecting with others who understand the loss of a beloved companion.
Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are warmly welcome.
Together we’ll create something beautiful that honours the life, love and memories you shared.
